  • Terms range from 1 - 5 years
  • Interest may be paid monthly or annually
Cashable term deposits provide access to your money before maturity, while non-redeemable deposits keep your funds invested until the end of the term. A cashable GIC has a 1 year term but is cashable after 30 days with no loss of interest. If you cash it in prior to 30 days then no interest is paid.
Yes. Term Deposits can be held within registered plans such as TFSA, RRSP, FHSA, and RRIF. 
Yes. Deposits with Alberta credit unions are guaranteed by the Credit Union Deposits Guarantee Corporation, including accrued interest.
